Research On The Influencing Factors And Export Potentials Of China’s Pharmaceutical Products Export To Major Pharmaceutical Trading Partners Along With The "One Belt And One Road"

As the Belt and Road Initiative continues to gain popularity,China and countries along the Belt and Road have carried out rich cooperation in various aspects and fields under the guidance of its core development concept,and economic and trade exchanges have become increasingly close.In current,COVID-19 outbreak around the world,health care products have great demand and development potential in the international market,so strengthen trade cooperation in the field of medical and health care products with the countries along "the Belt and Road" can effectively improve the national public health service ability of our country,promoting the economic recovery and social development stable and orderly,gain common development and mutual benefit among countries along the Belt and Road.Trade in healthcare products will become a new content,highlight,opportunity and growth point of trade cooperation between China and countries along the Belt and Road under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.Compared with ordinary consumer goods,products in the field of medicine and health have special attributes,which are closely related to the health level of people and have the attributes of public goods.They are not only determined by factors of consumers,but also influenced by many factors such as society and government.In this paper,in combination with related literature,on the basis of building expand trade gravity model,use the panel data from 2002 to 2018 of the main pharmaceutical trading from China and China’s "neighborhoods" all the way along the partner countries,namely with Chinese medicine trade large 12 "neighborhoods",the smallest unit is based on pharmaceutical products segment type,On the basis of controlling the degree of investment and trade facilitation,the influencing factors of China’s pharmaceutical products export scale to the relevant 12 destination countries were studied.The study found that the economic scale,population size,demographic structure,and cultural background represented by trade agreement and common language with China of the trade destination countries have a significant positive impact on the export of pharmaceutical products.However,the geographical distance between China and the trade destination countries,the urbanization rate of the trade destination countries and other factors have a significant negative impact on the trade scale of pharmaceutical products between China and the trade destination countries.In this paper,we tested the robustness of the regression analysis results,and we discussed the possible problems of endogeneity and heterogeneity,and found that the regression analysis results are still valid.On the basis of empirical regression analysis,this paper estimates the trade potential of China’s pharmaceutical products export to relevant countries along the"Belt and Road" by four product categories,and carries out classification analysis according to the results.Based on the empirical analysis and calculation results,this paper proposes indepth cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road to promote the all-round improvement of investment and trade facilitation.Enhance the competitiveness of Chinese pharmaceutical products,promote industrial transformation and upgrading;China should participate in infrastructure construction projects in countries along the Belt and Road actively,and facilitate the export of Chinese medical products.To strengthen the signing of free trade agreements with countries along the Belt and Road and deepen regional economic cooperation;Strengthen communication from various aspects to enhance the degree of recognition of Chinese pharmaceutical products;According to the different trade potential,the export scale should be adjusted flexibly,and targeted policy suggestions such as more targeted and differentiated trade policies should be implemented,so as to facilitate the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade in pharmaceutical products and provide reference for building a healthy Silk Road.
