Evaluation Of High Quality Development Of China’s Foreign Trade And Analysis Of Influencing Factors

Foreign trade is an important part of China’s open economy and an important driving force for the development of national economy.It is a key hub to practice China’s double circular economic development pattern.In 2021,the Ministry of Commerce issued the Plan for high-quality Development of Foreign trade during the 14th Five-Year Plan period,clearly pointing out the guiding ideology,main objectives and work priorities of foreign trade during the period.According to the requirements of the new period,the high-quality development of foreign trade has been endowed with a richer and more diversified connotation.Under the new historical position,how to evaluate the quality development level of China’s foreign trade scientifically and explore the influencing factors of the high-quality development of foreign trade is a problem that needs to be studied and discussed in the new era.Based on the theory of international competitive advantage theory,the innovation drive,inclusive growth theory,sustainable development theory as the foundation,according to the connotation of the quality of foreign trade development built contains foreign trade structure optimization,the sustainability level of China’s foreign trade growth,foreign trade,foreign trade competitiveness,innovation and development of foreign trade and cross-border electricity development level and so on six first-level indicators,26 secondary indicators of the comprehensive evaluation index system of high-quality development of foreign trade,a more comprehensive reflection of the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade,the collection of panel data from 2009 to 2019,using principal component analysis for evaluation.Then using panel bidirectional fixed effects from the Angle of innovation and development of high quality development of foreign trade influence factors regression analysis,at the same time adopt three-stage method to explore the innovation and development ability mediation effect on the mechanism of action of the high quality of foreign trade development of our country,and the quality of foreign trade developed from three regions and central region in the development of heterogeneity analysis.Through empirical research,this paper draws the following conclusions: First,the overall high-quality development level of China’s foreign trade continues to improve,showing an overall upward trend,the level of first-level indicators of foreign trade structure optimization,innovation and development level,cross-border e-commerce development level is generally rising,foreign trade sustainability and foreign trade competitiveness are generally rising,declining and then rising.The growth level of foreign trade shows a different trend of rising,falling,rising and falling again.After the establishment of the comprehensive test area,the overall high-quality development of China’s foreign trade shows a rapid rise.The optimization of the first-level indicators of foreign trade structure,the level of innovation and development,and the development level of cross-border e-commerce have been greatly improved.Second,innovation development ability has a positive effect on the high-quality development level of China’s foreign trade,and promotes the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade through the "level of opening to the outside world" as the intermediary variable.At the same time,the regional heterogeneity study found that the impact of innovation ability on high-quality development of foreign trade in the east and west of China is different.The improvement of innovation ability in the eastern and central regions can effectively promote the high quality development of foreign trade in the region,while the situation of promoting the high quality development of foreign trade in the western regions is not ideal.Thirdly,this paper puts forward four policy suggestions through the evaluation and influence factors of China’s foreign trade high quality development.First,we will implement the innovation-driven development strategy to raise the level of foreign trade;second,we will continue high-level reform and opening up to enhance the driving force for foreign trade growth;third,we will accelerate the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade structure to improve the quality of foreign trade development;fourth,we will narrow the gap between the eastern and western regions and promote balanced foreign trade development.
