Research On The International Competitiveness And Influencing Factors Of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry In Jiangsu Province

Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is closely related to our life.Nowadays,the epidemic of COVID-19 and the aging of the population are becoming more and more prominent,making people’s demand for pharmaceutical industry further increase.As a developed province in the east coast of China,pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province has formed advantages when it compared with other provinces,but there is still a big gap when the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu compared with the international pharmaceutical power.Therefore,evaluating the international competitiveness of Jiangsu pharmaceutical manufacturing industry comprehensively is necessary.By analyzing the influencing factors,feasible suggestions could be provided to improve its international competitiveness.Firstly,it analyzes and expounds the domestic and foreign research status of comparative advantage theory,competitive advantage theory,dual advantage theory,industrial international competitiveness and pharmaceutical industry competitiveness.What’s more,it analyzes the current situation of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province in terms of industrial scale,industrial structure and industrial potential.It is found that its industrial scale continues to expand,but there are still problems such as insufficient optimization of structure,insufficient investment in innovation,and insufficient development level of industrial clusters.The literature analysis and qualitative analysis provide the basis for the evaluation of the international competitiveness of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province and the research on the influencing factors.In the evaluation of international competitiveness of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province,five indicators are selected from two levels of comparative advantage and competitive advantage for calculation and analysis.After single indicator measurement and comparative analysis,principal component analysis is used to calculate the comprehensive index.Compared with other manufacturing powers,it is found that the international competitiveness of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province is higher than the national level,and higher than Japan and the United States in some years,but the overall competitive advantage has not been formed.In the aspect of influencing factor analysis,characteristics of Jiangsu pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is combined to build a framework of five levels of 20 secondary indicators through the existing source perspective and indicators,and the questionnaire is designed through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to conduct empirical research.The influence of factor analysis on the international competitiveness of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province is conducted from large to small :market environment;Social factors;Production capacity;Operating subject condition;Innovation ability.The five factors model of international competitiveness of pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province was verified by empirical analysis.Finally,according to the above analysis,some suggestions are generated to enhance the international competitiveness of Jiangsu pharmaceutical manufacturing industry,which includes the deeply continuing industrial reform,the improving of the industrial innovation system,and the intensification of the efforts on promoting medical trade under the epidemic situation.Also,Jiangsu Provincial government should promote the international cooperation actively,and strengthen innovation-driven and nationalized development of pharmaceutical enterprises.
