Research On The Upgrading Path Of Labor Skill Mix Based On Industrial Intelligence

The world is experiencing a new round of industrial revolution with intelligent technology as the core.The application of intelligent technology has a profound impact on economic and social fields.The most prominent impact is that intelligentization in the industrial field leads to the differentiation of different skilled labor groups.Industrial intelligentization increases the demand for high-skilled labor and replaces low-skilled labor,thus realizing the upgrading of skill mix.Under the background of intelligence,the upgrading of the labor skill mix is a complex process with multiple factors acting concurrently.Exploring the upgrading path of labor skill mix is of great importance to the realization of high-quality economic development in China.Based on the existing literature,this paper first defines the important connotation of industrial intelligence and labor force skill mix.Further,focused on China’s national conditions,the driving mechanism of industrial intelligence on labor skill mix is analyzed.At the same time,considering the complex influence of industrial intelligentization on the skill mix of the labor force,the mechanism of industrial mix upgrading,population aging,regional development level,and living cost on the skill mix of the labor force under the background of industrial intelligentization is analyzed.Secondly,based on the existing literature and mechanism analysis,this paper summarizes the factors that would influence the upgrading of labor skill mix,and takes30 provinces of Chinese mainland(except Tibet)as samples by Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis,which systematically investigates the interactive effect of industrial intelligence and regional development level,cost of living,population aging and industrial mix upgrading on the upgrading of labor skill mix.The study found that three paths upgrade the labor skill mix,including “intelligence driven” path,“intelligence and industry driven” path and “wider factors driven” path.After using multiple regression method to analyze the marginal effects of different paths,it is found that the “intelligence and industry driven” path is the greatest one,while the “wider factors driven” one follows behind,and the “intelligence driven” one is the third.Also the combined effect of variables is greater than the sum of their net effects.Finally,based on the conclusions,the paper puts forward some policy implications for the upgrading of labor skill mix.
