Analysis On The Influence Of Foreign Direct Investment On The Export Quality Of Mechanical And Electrical Products Of China

With the deepening of global economic integration,the export trade has developed rapidly.However,due to the impact of the trade war and COVID-19,the supply chain has been impacted and the cost of raw materials and labor has risen.Therefore,the low-price strategy is no longer applicable.In this case,export products need to shift from low prices to high quality.The research on export quality of China started late,and due to the difficulty of data acquisition and the inconsistency of product quality measurement methods,the existing research rarely analyzes the quality of a specific export product of a country.Based on this,this paper takes the export quality of mechanical and electrical products as the research object,and analyzes it based on the theory of international investment.Firstly,it analyzes the current situation of foreign direct investment and the export situation of mechanical and electrical products.Secondly,the export quality of mechanical and electrical products is measured by the unit value method,and the current situation of export quality of mechanical and electrical products is analyzed.Thirdly,analyzing the influencing factors of the export quality of mechanical and electrical products.The explained variable is the export quality of mechanical and electrical products,the main explanatory variable is the foreign direct investment expressed by the level of research and development,and the trade openness is used as an auxiliary explanation variable.Granger test of causality was performed on serial data.The test results show that there is a positive causal relationship between export quality of mechanical and electrical products and foreign direct investment,and the trade openness and the foreign direct investment have a positive causal relationship.Finally,according to the above research conclusions,some suggestions are put forward in terms of attracting foreign direct investment,improving the level of R&D and innovation and,expanding trade openness and optimizing the export structure of mechanical and electrical products:optimizing the environment for foreign direct investment to attract foreign direct investment;increasing investment in research and development,improving the level of research and development;deepen regional cooperation,deepening regional cooperation,coordinate regional layout;optimizing trade promotion platform,broaden trade channels;optimizing trade structure,and promote the balanced development of mechanical and electrical industry.
