The Impact Of FDI On Export Structure Of Beijing

Since the reform and opening to the outside world the FDI in Beijing has been going increasingly and the exporting structure has been optimized continuously. However, few researches on the relationship between FDI and exporting structure have been found. As a result the paper focuses on the impact on the exporting structure by the FDI and analyses the channel and mechanism of the impact. The paper starts with the basic theory of relationship between FDI and exporting structure and then sums up the results of the theoretic and practicing researches of the scholars home and abroad on this issue. Besides, the paper briefs the situation of FDI and exporting structure in Beijing and concludes the trend and the main characteristic. Making use of Co-Integration analysis method and the Granger Causality Test of cause-result relationship with the economic data 1995-2004 in Beijing in hand and the sensitive characteristic to the different lag periods measurement analysis has been done on the relationship between FDI and exporting structure and finds that the FDI influences the exporting structure through the adjustment of industrial structure. In short term the FDI is the direct cause of upgrade of industrial structure while in long term the upgrade of industrial structure is the dominant factor. The paper also analyses in deep the cause producing such mechanism on the base of measurement analysis and the actual situation of economy of Beijing to probe the deep pragmatic cause in deeper level. In the end the paper puts forth some policy proposal as policy reference for the purpose of creation of better investment environment and more effective absorption and utilization of FDI based on the characteristic the influence of FDI on exporting structure.
