With the improvement of China’s market economy,a commercial banking system with large state-owned commercial banks,joint-stock commercial banks and city commercial banks as the main body has taken shape.However,all kinds of commercial banks are particularly similar in terms of geographical distribution,business products and customer groups.The competition among banks is becoming increasingly fierce,and all of them are faced with risks and challenges such as customer loss and market share decline.City commercial banks struggle to survive in the cracks between large state-owned banks,foreign banks and other joint-stock banks,and the competition is very fierce.QS Bank is a typical small and medium-sized city commercial bank with small asset scale and weak risk tolerance.Faced with the complex and changeable external environment threats,QS Bank must choose the right development strategy,Give full play to internal advantages,seize development opportunities,clear market positioning,actively promote transformation and upgrading,Only in this way can banks survive and develop in the fierce competition in the industry and concentrate on building regional boutique banks with strong professionalism and operating characteristics.Therefore,this thesis takes QS Bank as the research object,and discusses in detail the selection and implementation of the development strategy in line with the actual situation of the bank.First of all,based on strategic management theory and analysis tools,this thesis analyzes QS Bank’s internal resources and external environment in detail,and uses SWOT analysis and internal and external factor evaluation matrix to summarize and evaluate the bank’s internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats.Then,the SWOT AHP analysis method is adopted to determine that QS bank should adopt Twist development strategy based on the bank’s development status,vision and development goals.Banks should fully grasp the market development opportunities,adhere to the market positioning of serving small and medium-sized enterprises,serving community development and developing personal retail business,and promote the transformation and development strategy of refinement,differentiation,specialization,digitization and moderate integration.Finally,this thesis analyzes the implementation of QS bank’s development strategy from five aspects:characteristic differentiation transformation development,fine transformation development,promoting digital transformation development,moderate comprehensive transformation development and in-depth transformation development of "big retail"strategy.It also puts forward various safeguard measures for strategy implementation,such as strengthening the construction of talent team,optimizing the organizational structure,building a comprehensive risk management framework and strengthening the construction of internal control mechanism to improve the management level.
