A Study Of 100 Years Of Postal Development And Its Position And Role In The National Economy

Founded in 1896,China Post has gone through more than a hundred years of development.In the late Qing Dynasty,the postal service gradually realized modernization.Modern China Post has a certain role in promoting the national economy,but limited by the turbulent social environment.The founding of New China opened a new era of postal modernization.With the acceleration of the transformation and upgrading of my country’s industrial structure,the modern postal industry,as a basic industry in the tertiary industry,has made more significant contributions to the national economy and further promoted the development of the national economy.At the same time,we must also see that the modernization of my country’s postal industry still needs to be improved,and there is still much room for improvement in the level of postal service serving the country’s economy.In today’s increasingly high-quality economic growth in my country,looking back at the development history of postal services in the past century and clarifying the status and role of the postal industry in the national economy is of great significance to the future planning of the postal industry and the long-term development of the national economy.This paper analyzes and summarizes the research results at home and abroad,and focuses on the status and role of the postal industry in the national economy.Firstly,according to historical documents,systematically sort out the historical evolution and development of modern postal services in China.Next,on the one hand,it analyzes the impact of modern postal services on the national economy at that time;on the other hand,based on the previous research results and the actual economic development of our country,six key indicators are selected to quantify their development in the two major systems of modern postal service and national economy.Through the "China Statistical Yearbook 2021" to query the corresponding indicator data,use SPSS26.0 software to analyze the rationality and effectiveness of the indicators,and on this basis,construct the entropy weight-grey correlation model of the postal industry and the national economy.After the completion of the model construction,the entropy weight method is used to calculate the index weight,and the grey relational analysis method is used to calculate the correlation between my country’s postal industry and national economic indicators,and to judge the degree of synergy between the two systems.According to the calculated results,measure the level of the postal industry serving the country’s economy and its role in the country’s economy.Combining qualitative and quantitative analysis,it can be seen that the impact of modern postal services on the national economy is mainly reflected in three aspects:promoting agricultural development,facilitating industrial and commercial development,and driving the development of transportation industry.The influence and contribution are quite limited.Among the six indicators of modern postal services,the total length of airmail routes is the most closely related to national economic development,followed by total postal services,express delivery volume,total length of automobile postal routes,number of employed persons in the postal industry,and number of parcels.From 2007 to 2020,the effective value of the synergy between the modern postal industry and the national economy is 0.6423-0.8543,with an average value of 0.7284,which is a moderate synergy state,indicating that the status and role of the modern postal industry in the national economy has been reflected to a certain extent,but there is still much room for improvement.This paper explores the status and role of modern postal services in the national economy through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
