Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago,China’s urban development and construction have made significant progress. The eastern coastal areas have formed three major economic circles, namely, the Growth Triangle, the Pearl River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.In the 13th Five-Year Plan, the State Council proposed to build 19 urban agglomerations to further accelerate the development of urban agglomerations. The "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan"emphasizes "developing and expanding urban agglomeration and metropolitan area, promoting the integrated development of urban agglomeration, and comprehensively forming the" two horizontal and three vertical "strategic pattern of urbanization".It can be seen that the revitalization of the old industrial base in Northeast China is an important link in the process of coordinated development of the whole country and regions.Based on this, this paper takes 34 prefecture-level cities in the three eastern provinces as the research object, selects the relevant data in 2010,2015 and 2020,and uses the modified gravity model to calculate the value of economic links between cities.First,it analyzes the hierarchical characteristics and the direction of the links between cities, and then uses the social network analysis method to analyze the density and structure of the economic network,This paper probes into the development status of regional economic integration in Northeast China and discusses the influencing factors. The research results show that:(1)In general, the spatial network of urban agglomeration in the three eastern provinces generally presents the characteristics of being dense in the south and sparse in the north, forming a pattern that takes Shenyang,Changchun and Harbin as the core, and takes Harbin Great Wall City Cluster and Liaozhong and Nancheng City Cluster as the high value gathering places and gradually decreases to the north and south sides.(2)From the perspective of economic connection, the radiation and absorption between cities have a strong spatial proximity effect, and the radiation of the three provincial capitals is not enough to drive the development of peripheral cities.Among them, the intensity of economic ties in Liaoning Province is the highest, and the intensity of inter-provincial economic ties in Jilin Province is the highest.(3)Based on the analysis of the characteristics of the spatial association network of urban agglomeration, the density of urban agglomeration network shows an upward trend, and the overall economic development level of Liaoning Province is relatively high, and a certain stable and close economic connection network has been formed;Jilin Province is located in the middle of the three eastern provinces, with certain geographical advantages and relatively balanced links to the surrounding areas, and can serve as a bridge for economic exchanges between Liaoning and Heilongjiang; Some remote cities in Heilongjiang Province have weak economic strength and are almost separated from the contact network. The radiation effect of the contact network with Harbin,Qiqihar and Daqing as the core is not enough to drive some cities with relatively backward economic development.According to the analysis of agglomerated subgroups, the urban agglomeration of the three eastern provinces can be divided into four small groups, and the strength of the links between different agglomerated subgroups has improved from 2010 to 2020,with the highest degree of links between the third and fourth subgroups.(4)The QAP analysis results show that the GDP difference matrix and the actual utilization of foreign capital difference matrix have a significant positive impact on the strength of economic ties, the spatial distance and the proportion of the tertiary industry difference matrix have a significant negative impact on the strength of economic ties, and fixed assets investment has no significant impact on the economic linkage network,of which the distance factor has the greatest impact on economic linkages.
