With the development of the world economy, science and technology and the improvement of people’s living standards, there has been continuous progress of capital and knowledge-intensive medical device enterprises and has been a strong growth trend since this century because people’s requirements for health and medical security are getting higher and higher. As the second most populous country in the world,China has a large elderly population whose consumption level has increased with the popularization of urbanization;therefore, medical configuration needs to be continuously improved in order to keep up with the rhythm of the market. At the same time, due to the continuous improvement of the international status of medical devices and the popularization of international trade,China’s medical device development depends on the development of technology nowadays.Since the new century, follow the policy of Powerful Nation of Science and Technology and "Made in China 2025",expanding exports will bring major benefits to China’s economy and science and technology, therefore, exploring the impact of R&D investment on exports has corresponding research significance. This thesis begins with an illustration of the background and significance of the research,a summary of the difference literature and theory, and analysis on the R&D investment and development of medical devices on the foundation of the basic theories such as classical trade theory, and used research tools including the panel data of A-share medical device listed companies from 2012 to 2021,the quantitative analysis software Stata15.0 which conducts with the mixed effect model as a benchmark regression, followed by the use of individual fixed effects,The estimation analysis of the temporal fixed effect and the double fixed effect model, and concludes that coefficient of R&D investment(LNRD)was significantly positive, which indicated that R&D investment can promote the increase of enterprise exports.Through model research and analysis, the main conclusions reached in this thesis are as follows:Firstly, the R&D investment of listed medical device enterprises has a significant role in promoting exports. In this thesis, the estimation analysis of individual fixed effect, time fixed effect and double fixed effect is adopted, and the double fixed effect is used as the benchmark regression, and the regression results of the four models can promote the increase of enterprise exports, and the robustness test is done, which verifies the hypothesis of the thesis.Secondly,in the empirical analysis,it is found that the return on assets(ROA)has a significant positive impact on exports, indicating that the stronger the profitability of the enterprise, the better the asset utilization ability, and the larger the export volume of the enterprise.
