Research On The Relationship Between Intellectual Property Protection And Collaborative Innovation In High-tech Industry Enterprises

Manufacturing enterprises are the key subjects to realize the high-quality development of China’s economy and are the basic industries of the national economy.High-tech industries,as the innovation highland in manufacturing,are more responsive to the changes of intellectual property protection,which is of great significance to the study of collaborative innovation of Chinese enterprises.As the cost of technological innovation and investment risks increase,collaborative innovation with external organizations becomes an effective way to improve the efficiency of technological innovation and avoid sunk costs.The essence of collaborative innovation is the sharing,flow,absorption and re-innovation of knowledge,and the level of intellectual property protection affects the value and economic returns that can be created from knowledge,thus affecting the incentive of enterprises to engage in collaborative innovation.This paper compares existing literature and relevant theories to propose three hypotheses on the relationship between high-tech industry enterprise collaborative innovation and intellectual property protection,and selects provincial panel data from 2013 to 2020 as a sample to explore the relationship between high-tech industry enterprise collaborative innovation and intellectual property protection and the mediating effect of human capital investment between intellectual property protection and enterprise collaborative innovation using fixed-effects models,stepwise regression analysis and regional heterogeneity analysis.The following results were obtained from the empirical analysis: firstly,there is a positive relationship between collaborative innovation of enterprises and intellectual property protection,and the willingness of enterprises to engage in collaborative innovation increases as the level of intellectual property protection increases,and there is regional heterogeneity in the impact of intellectual property protection on collaborative innovation.Secondly,there is a lagging effect between the level of intellectual property protection and corporate collaborative innovation.Intellectual property protection policies of previous years also have an impact on collaborative innovation,and there is also regional heterogeneity in this effect;thirdly,human capital investment has a mediating effect between intellectual property protection and corporate collaborative innovation.On the basis of the findings of the above study,the following recommendations are made,considering the perspectives of government departments,enterprises and other subjects of collaborative innovation: the government should increase its efforts to protect intellectual property rights,publicize intellectual property protection policies and measures,formulate innovation incentive policies,establish an assessment and evaluation system,create a collaborative innovation platform for enterprises and promote collaborative innovation;enterprises should enhance their awareness of intellectual property protection,improve their internal intellectual property protection system,and Focus on collaborative innovation,identify partners,build regional collaborative innovation networks,and attach importance to the role of talents and the introduction of talents.These suggestions have some reference and significance for manufacturing enterprises to grasp the relationship between intellectual property protection and collaborative innovation,and how to grasp the development trend of the times for collaborative innovation.
