The study of high-tech intellectual property has practical significance. At present, social development is in the era of knowledge economy, and global competition is intensified. All the countries have paid more attention on high-tech industry development, and high-tech promotion to the domestic economy development. The proportion of global dependence on technology to improve productivity is up to 50-70%, while for China it is only 40%. So it is necessary to set out high-tech progress as the primary driving force of China social development. And the premise of high-tech development is based on establishing and improving the mechanisms of intellectual property.I have contacted a large number of semiconductor lighting companies in the work. The semiconductor lighting industry is a key developing high-tech industry in China, with experiences and lessons in this field. So I decide to take semiconductor lighting industry as a case study of high-tech intellectual property protection in China. Firstly, I classify the high-tech intellectual property as a special new category, and synthesize the features and status quo of domestic and international intellectual property. The Research has taken the following methods, such as discussion, literature research, and site visits. Additionally, I make a thorough analysis for some case studies. This paper is based on the semiconductor lighting industry, combining detailed and integrated approaches to analyze the current high-tech intellectual property protection system of China. It finds out the shortcomings of the system, the further reasons and proposes relevant strategies. It gives some suggestions on high-tech intellectual property protection mechanism from social consciousness, the government function, the positioning of universities and research institutes and corporate responsibility. These four factors are interrelated and mutually restricted. Among them, the society is like the soil, public participation and support are the driving power of innovation and practical ability; the government is a platform to protect high-tech intellectual property from the administration and legislation; universities and research institutes are the key high-tech incubator, a supply source of innovation; business is the terminal and practitioner of intellectual property.
