Study On The Impact Of Agricultural Mechanization On The Integration Of Three Industries In China’s Rural Areas

“To promote the integrated development of the primary,secondary,and tertiary industries in rural areas”,officially indicated on No.1 official documents in 2015,is an important part of urban-rural integration development in China,a key way for peasantry to increase income,the objective requirements to realize sustainable development in rural areas,and the critical path to reach agricultural modernization.Industries integration in rural areas raise peasantry’s income as well as realize highquality development of agricultural industries.Agricultural mechanization,the material conditions of agricultural modernization,will provide core power to accelerate industries integration in rural areas.Therefore,clarifying the influences of agricultural mechanization on industries integration in rural areas means significantly on how to well develop agricultural mechanization to speed up industries integration.The paper is developed based on relevant achievements achieved by researches done in China and other countries.The paper first adopts theories related to division of labor,agricultural multi-functionality and economies of scale to analyze how agricultural mechanization,which includes equipment conditions of agricultural machinery and service level of socialization of agricultural machinery and operation level of agricultural machinery,affect industries integration in rural areas.Secondly,the paper shows the development situations of agricultural mechanization and industries integration in rural areas in China,builds evaluation indicators and system to evaluate the development level of industries integration in rural areas,then measure,calculate and analyze the development level of industries integration in rural areas during the period from the year of 2010 to 2020 by using the Entropy method to calculate comprehensive evaluation index.The paper finally selects relevant indicator data as the core explanatory variables and employs two-way fixed effects model to develop regression analysis on the impact of agricultural mechanization on industries integration in rural areas from perspectives of equipment conditions of agricultural machinery,service level of socialization of agricultural machinery and operation level of agricultural machinery.Results indicate: industries integration in rural areas in China during the period from 2010 to 2020 developed well;however,developmental disequilibrium exists in different regions that development level in the eastern region is higher than that in the central and western regions,while the speed of development in the western region is relatively fastest in recent years.In the process of industries integration in rural areas,importance of facility agriculture,leisure agriculture and processing industry for agricultural products grows.Empirical results show that the three different dimensions of agricultural mechanization development,that are equipment conditions of agricultural machinery,service level of socialization of agricultural machinery and operation level of agricultural machinery,will promote industries integration in rural areas positively.However,their effects differ in different areas.Improvement of equipment conditions of agricultural machinery has positive influence on industries integration in eastern rural areas;Promotion of service level of socialization of agricultural machinery and operation level of agricultural machinery greatly boosts industries integration in eastern and western rural areas;however,development of agricultural mechanization does not play an significant role in promoting rural industries integration in the central region.According to results achieved under the research,to well play a positive role of agricultural mechanization in promoting industries integration in rural areas and to speed up the process of industries integration in rural areas.,the paper puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions:(1)Increase investment in agricultural machinery,popularize agricultural machinery,and enhance the ratio of agricultural machinery equipment.(2)Enhance socialized services of agricultural machinery,perfect socialized services system of agricultural machinery.(3)Improve weak links of mechanization in ploughing,sowing and harvesting to realize overall agricultural mechanization.(4)Develop agricultural mechanization based on local conditions,and fully drive industries integration in rural areas.
