Analysis On The Effect Factors On The Adopting Behavior About Agricultural Machinery Services Of Peasant Household

<Law of the The People’s Republic of China on Promotion of Agricultural Mechanization>come into effect in November1,2004and National’11th Five-Year plan’ regard to encourage and support the development of various forms of agricultural machinery service organizations to raise the level of agricultural mechanization in China as a key part. With the subsidy policy of farm machinery purchase coming into effect, China’s agricultural operations service organization has considerable development in organization forms, service modes, service content, and other aspects. Agricultural machinery operation service has become an important part of China’s agriculture social services.In China, the per capita arable land area is only about1.4acres. Due to the limit of agriculture operating conditions, we can not take the development road of European and American-style:large-scale farms and large agricultural machinery. Agricultural mechanization in China may take the small and complete road by the small-scale farmers taking possession of agricultural machine; or take large and precious path by developing agricultural machinery social service organizations. For the first one, the input to agricultural machine is limited by the family scattered small-scale farmers, the small-scale agricultural machine owned by individual farmers has the weakness of single function, repeated investment, not only the diversified needs of agricultural production can not be met, also the problem of raising manage cost and inefficiency because of seasonal agricultural production and so on. According to the experience of some developed countries’ agricultural mechanization development, supporting the professional cooperation organizations or specialized households and strengthening the supply of farm machinery operation services is a practical way. As a "commodity", the supply of farm operation services depends on the demand, the demand is reflected in the large number of rational micro-level farmers in China, which is the difference from other countries in China’s development process of agricultural mechanization, but also the motive force of development of agricultural mechanization. Presently, China’s rural labor force transfer results in the absolute reduction in agricultural labor and the increase in peasant income, so the relative price between agricultural labor and farm machinery operations services changes which results the objective need of using farm machinery operations to replace the human resource.In this context, this paper analyzes major factors influencing the adopting behavior about agricultural machinery services of peasant household based on field investigations by statistical methods and econometric models. The paper is divided into six parts according to the research objectives. The first introduction part gives a general idea of the research background, ideas, methods and so on; The second part is about the literature review and theoretical basis.By analyzing the literature about agricultural machinery service at home and abroad and the analysis on peasant household behavior, this part summarizes the major factors influencing the adopting behavior about agricultural machinery services of peasant household and lays the foundation foe the following descriptive statistics and empirical analysis;The third part focuses on China’s the development process of agricultural machinery service, organizational forms,services form, the present situation and existing problems;Chapter IV analyzes the data of questionnaire survey by descriptive statistics, finds the relationship between the extent of the sample farmers’ part-time farming, characteristics of cultivated land, development lever of agricultural machinery services in target area, whether the peasant household takes possession of agricultural machine or not and the adopting behavior about agricultural machinery services of peasant household, provides the basis for the variable selection and research hypothesis of the next part; The fifth chapter is the core part of this article, analyzes the effect factors on the adopting behavior about agricultural machinery services of peasant household, including theoretical analysis and the building of the model; The last chapter gives the appropriate policy recommendations for the development of agricultural operations service organizations from the micro and macro levels on the basis of the study in front and provides some reference for the government decision-making.
