| As a research hotspot at home and abroad in recent years,digital economy and international trade have received increasing attention in the process of economic development.Many scholars have conducted in-depth discussions from the perspective of the dual marginal impact of the development of digital economy on export trade.As a result of the changes in the international market,the domestic manufacturing industry needs to deal with many problems,such as the reduction of traditional resource advantages and the lack of core innovation ability.Therefore,it has become an urgent practical problem to continuously improve the technical complexity of the current domestic manufacturing export,gradually transform the traditional development concept of cost advantage,and break through the bottleneck of manufacturing upgrading.The rapid development of digital economy can bring new momentum to the domestic manufacturing industry in the process of accelerating the development of domestic manufacturing industry and transforming China from a big manufacturing country to a strong manufacturing country.The literature at home and abroad has gradually changed from the volume of export products to the technology content of export products,and studied the change of the structure of export products from the perspective of the technical complexity of export products.However,most scholars carry out research from the national or regional level,and deeply discuss the influence of the development of digital economy on the export competitiveness.However,there are few relevant studies from the perspective of urban trade structure.As an important basic unit structure of human activities,enterprise development and the combination of various factors of production,cities are also the main spatial node in the foreign trade network in our current economic development.The transformation and upgrading of urban trade is the key to promote the transformation of Chinese foreign trade from "low price and fine quality" to "high quality price",thus promoting the transformation and upgrading of national export trade structure.Therefore,this paper,through in-depth discussion of the urban digital economy development to the technological content of export products brought by many influences,in-depth understanding of the relevant mechanism,to accelerate the upgrading and development of foreign trade structure for domestic cities,to complete the strategic development of China’s manufacturing power to provide some references.This paper firstly makes a comprehensive analysis of the relevant theoretical mechanisms that influence the technical complexity of export products in the process of urban digital economy development,selects the sample data of 281 cities in China from2011 to 2017 as the analysis object,and calculates the technical complexity of export based on China Customs import and export statistics database and United Nations Commodity Trade statistics database.Build the empirical research model based on relevant theories.First,combined with previous relevant literature,this paper comprehensively analyzes the effect mechanism of digital economy development on the technological complexity of domestic export,and finally concludes that it can have a certain impact on the technological complexity of export from two different perspectives: technological innovation effect and human capital enhancement effect.Secondly,the entropy method is mainly used to establish the index system of urban digital economy level from the three aspects of digital scale,digital foundation and digital financial foundation,and to comprehensively measure and analyze the development index of multiple urban digital economy.Third,based on the panel data of281 cities in China and the corresponding econometric model,the fixed effect model is used to carry out relevant empirical analysis.Through the above research,it is finally found that the development of domestic urban digital economy can accelerate the upgrading and transformation of urban trade structure,and various control variables such as urban financial development and infrastructure construction also have significant positive effects on the technological complexity of export.At the same time,combined with the theoretical analysis,the two intermediary variables of technological innovation and human capital are selected to conduct the internal mechanism test.The research finds that digital economy can effectively promote the technological innovation effect and human capital enhancement effect,and on this basis can promote the development and improvement of the technological complexity of our export.Based on the analysis of sub-regional samples,it is found that digital economy has a more significant impact on the upgrading and development of the trade structure of many cities in central China.The results show that the development of digital economy has a relatively significant promoting effect on the export technological complexity of the Central Plains urban agglomeration,while a relatively small promoting effect on the Sichuan-Chongqing urban agglomeration.Through the heterogeneity test analysis of different industries,it is found that the digital economy has a great difference in promoting the technological complexity of export of different manufacturing industries.In many industries,the promoting effect of the technological complexity of export is more significant,especially for the technology-intensive manufacturing industry,but has no significant effect on the capital-intensive and labor-intensive manufacturing industry.According to the results of the previous study,our country needs to further improve the development speed of various digital economy related infrastructure such as data centers and the Internet of things,and constantly improve the integration of digital economy and manufacturing industry.Focus on technological research and development and technological innovation;Make full use of digital economy to accelerate the accumulation of human capital,and constantly improve the human capital stock of domestic cities and industries. |
