| At present,digital technology and the Internet are developing rapidly,and China ’s digital trade is developing rapidly.In 2021,China ’s digital trade scale has reached1854.39 billion yuan,an increase of 40.1 % year-on-year,accounting for 35 % of service trade,which has gradually become an important trade mode in the digital age.Digital trade based on data and digital technology and Internet platform has gradually become a strong support for China’s economic growth.At the same time,although China’s manufacturing industry,as the main body of China’s real economy,plays a key role in the high-quality development of China’s economy,the development of manufacturing industry is slowing down,especially facing problems such as lack of core technology,unreasonable industrial structure,high energy consumption and high pollution,which seriously hinder the strategic goal of high-quality development based on the new development concept.Because digital technology and data based on digital trade can be transmitted at almost zero marginal cost,frequent and rapid interaction can greatly save costs,not only make the whole process of manufacturing production smoother and more efficient,but also stimulate manufacturing technology innovation,innovate process and reduce energy consumption,which can be transformed into basic advantages to promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.So,can digital trade promote the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry? What is its mechanism of action? This remains to be demonstrated.Based on this,In dealing with the high-quality development of China’s digital trade and manufacturing industry,this paper provides theoretical support for it.This paper took 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020 as the research object,used entropy method to measure the evaluation index system of digital trade and high-quality development of manufacturing industry,and used two-way fixed effect model and intermediary effect model to empirically test the impact of digital trade on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.Firstly,this paper took the development level of digital trade measured by entropy method as the explanatory variable,and the high-quality development index of manufacturing industry as the explanatory variable,and used the two-way fixed effect model to empirically analyze the direct impact of digital trade on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.On this basis,the explanatory variable lag one-stage method and the elimination of special sample method tested the endogenous and robustness of the model.Secondly,the mediating effect model analyzed the indirect effect of digital trade on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry from three aspects : technological innovation,industrial structure upgrading and labor productivity.Finally,31 provinces were divided into three parts : east,middle and west to empirically analyze the regional heterogeneity of digital trade on the high-quality development of China ’s manufacturing industry.The empirical results showed that: First,through the benchmark regression,The benchmark regression coefficient was significantly positive at the level of 1%,indicating that digital trade ha a significant promoting effect on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and the robustness test verified the reliability of the results.Secondly,the mechanism test through intermediary effect showed that digital trade can promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry through technological innovation,industrial structure upgrading and labor productivity.Both technological innovation and industrial structure upgrading show partial mediating effects,and labor productivity has a ’ masking effect ’ on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.Thirdly,through the empirical analysis of regional heterogeneity,it was found that In the eastern,central,and western regions of China,the impact of digital trade on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry varied.Among them,the central region had the strongest promotion effect and the western region had the weakest promotion effect.Based on the results of empirical research,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations: First,actively promote the development of digital trade and improve infrastructure construction;second,actively promote the integration and innovation of digital technology and manufacturing industry;third,rational planning to promote high-quality and balanced development of manufacturing industries in various regions. |
