| The new industrial revolution has promoted a new round of deconstruction and reconstruction of the global manufacturing landscape, and China’s manufacturing industry is facing a "two-way squeeze" from developed and developing countries, which urgently needs to achieve quality and efficiency improvement through transformation and upgrading to enhance international competitiveness. With the integration of digital technology and various sectors of the manufacturing industry chain, the manufacturing process has gradually realized automation and intelligence, and developing countries with low-cost labor advantage have fallen into a "precarious" predicament, and the conventional development path is unsustainable,Therefore, exploring new development paths is extremely urgent. At present, the main reasons restricting transformation and upgrading are the inability to find new driving forces and the poor continuity of old and new driving forces. In order to search for the driving factors of digital transformation in China’s manufacturing industry,we first analyze the level of digital transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing industry.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the background and current situation of China’s manufacturing industry and its degree of digital transformation and upgrading. This thesis introduces the theoretical basis related to the digital transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, and defines the connotation of the digital transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry. From the four dimensions of digital transformation capability, green development capability,innovation-driven capability and benefit enhancement capability, four primary indicators and nine secondary indicators are built a measurement system for digital transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry. Then, the entropy weight-TOPSIS method was used to measure the digital transformation and upgrading level of manufacturing industry in each province, city and autonomous region of China, and a horizontal and vertical comparative analysis was conducted. Then, based on the current situation of China’s manufacturing industry’s digital transformation and upgrading and the measurement results of China’s manufacturing industry’s digital transformation and upgrading capabilities, this thesis analyzes the influencing factors of China’s manufacturing industry’s digital transformation and upgrading.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China from 2013 to2019,the impact of factors such as technological innovation, human capital, industrial advancedization, urbanization level, and environmental regulation on the digital transformation and upgrading capability of manufacturing industries is examined using panel fixed-effects models and GMM estimation methods. The research results show that technological innovation, human capital, and industrial upgrading promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, however, the level of urbanization and environmental regulation factors have a constraining effect on the digital transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry. In addition, the results of regional heterogeneity analysis indicate that in regions with higher economic levels, human capital has the greatest positive impact on manufacturing digital transformation and upgrading, while environmental regulations have the strongest inhibitory effect on manufacturing digital transformation and upgrading. Finally, the thesis focuses on the perspective of technological innovation and market prospects, and conducts a comparative analysis of the relevant policies of advanced manufacturing countries in the world. Finally, this article focuses on the perspective of technological innovation and market prospects, discusses the relevant policies of advanced manufacturing countries in the world, and analyzes the current situation of China’s manufacturing industry.Based on the above analysis, this article proposes two strategies from the perspective of technological innovation: first, improving the basic capabilities of manufacturing industry technological innovation;second,Improve the collaborative capacity of technological innovation in the manufacturing industry. Two strategies are proposed from the perspective of market prospects: first, governments and enterprises attach importance to the changes in consumer behavior caused by digital development;second,Accelerate the formulation of control policies for digital platforms. |
