Based on the background of the era of high-quality economic development in the new era,guiding the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure has become the core driving force for promoting the quality improvement and deceleration,kinetic energy conversion and structural transformation of China’s economy.With the continuous advancement of a new round of industrial revolution with digital technology as the core,the digital economy provides new ways to promote China’s economic development to achieve quality change,efficiency change and power change,and provides a key starting point and important cornerstone for realizing industrial modernization and high-quality economic development.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impact of the digital economy on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.First of all,this thesis sorts out the relevant theories of digital economy and industrial structure transformation and upgrading,based on the rich connotation of industrial structure transformation and upgrading,discusses the theoretical logic of digital economy affecting the advanced,rationalized,ecological and innovative transformation of industrial structure,and explores the spatial effect of digital economy on industrial structure transformation and upgrading based on the characteristics of digital economy.Secondly,on the basis of analyzing the current situation of digital economy development and the evolution of industrial structure,the evaluation index system for digital economic development is constructed from the four core dimensions of the basic environment of digital economic development,digital infrastructure construction,digital industrialization and industrial digital development,and based on the connotation understanding of the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure in the new era,the index system for industrial structure transformation and upgrading is constructed from the four dimensions of industrial structure advancement,rationalization,ecology and innovation transformation.The entropy right TOPSIS method is used to calculate the development level of digital economy and the level of industrial structure transformation and upgrading in 30 provinces and cities in China from 2011 to2020,and arc GIS software is used to make spatial visualization and comparison of digital economy development level and industrial structure transformation and upgrading.Finally,the spatial econometric model is used to empirically explore the spatial effect of digital economy development on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.The findings of the study are as follows:The current situation analysis shows:(1)the level of digital economy development in China’s provinces,municipalities and regions from 2011 to 2020 shows an upward trend to achieve quality improvement and growth rate;the interregional display of "East China-Central South-North China-Southwest-Northwest-Northeast" in descending stepwise,the difference between regions is significant and gradually expanding;(2)The overall industrial structure transformation and upgrading index of2011-2020 shows a steady upward trend,and the interregional area shows a "North China-Central South-East China-Southwest-Northeast-Northwest"(3)The spatial pattern of digital economy and industrial structure shows that the development of the eastern region is better than that of the western region and the development of the southern region is better than that of the northern region,which is basically in line with the pattern of the Hu Huanyong line.Empirical research shows that:(1)the digital economy has a significant spatial spillover effect on the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure,the digital economy leads industrial change,spawns emerging industries,helps the digital transformation of traditional industries,improves industrial production efficiency and resource allocation efficiency,gives full play to the characteristics of high penetration and strong diffusion of the digital economy,and promotes the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure in the region and neighboring regions;the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure has a spatial spillover effect,and the upgrading of the industrial structure in neighboring areas can boost the upgrading of the industrial structure in the region.(2)The development of digital economy has a significant spatial effect on the upgrading of industrial structure,and the digital transformation and development of new formats,core industries and traditional industries of the digital economy effectively promotes the advanced development of industrial structure in the region and neighboring regions;under the condition of considering spatial error,the digital economy promotes the rational development of industrial structure by improving the efficiency of factor resource allocation and industrial operation;under the condition of considering spatial error,the digital economy promotes the development of innovative industries.Enhance industrial innovation capabilities and accelerate the transformation of innovation achievements,and promote the transformation and development of industrial structure innovation;considering the ecological space overflow of industrial structure,the digital economy has a significant role in promoting the ecological development of industrial structure by improving resource utilization efficiency,changing the traditional extensive development model and the concept of green and low-carbon life model.Based on the empirical research results,the policy enlightenment of this thesis is proposed: to promote the integrated development of the digital economy and the real industry,and to consolidate the foundation for industrial structure transformation and upgrading;to promote the research and development of high-end digital technologies and lead the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure;to strengthen the top-level design of the digital economy and ensure the transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure.
