| Now,on the basis of winning poverty alleviation and achieving the first centenary Goal,China is stepping into the second centenary goal, and the poverty problem has changed from the original poverty alleviation to a new stage of preventing the return of poverty.Among various factors that lead to residents returning to poverty, illness is the most prominent one.The basic medical insurance system has played a certain role in alleviating this problem, but the effect is limited. Many rural residents are still at risk of returning to poverty. As a part of the medical security system and a strong supplement to the social basic medical insurance,it is of great significance to explore the effect of participating in commercial health insurance in preventing the return to poverty due to illness. This paper selects the latest two periods of data from the Chinese household finance survey database for empirical analysis, uses the expected poverty vulnerability method to measure the poverty vulnerability of rural residents, and then uses the benchmark regression model to explore the anti-poverty effect of commercial health insurance.By grouping the sample areas and work nature of residents,To explore the differences in the anti-poverty effect of commercial health insurance in different regions and work nature, and verify the validity of the model through endogeneity analysis and robustness test. The results show that at present, there are still some rural residents with poverty vulnerability and risk of returning to poverty, and participation in commercial health insurance can significantly reduce their poverty vulnerability and effectively prevent the phenomenon of returning to poverty due to illness, and the effect of commercial health insurance on preventing poverty is more significant in eastern areas and non-agricultural working groups. Finally, this paper puts forward a series of suggestions, such as enhancing the awareness of rural residents to buy commercial health insurance and strengthening the innovation of commercial health insurance products,so that commercial health insurance can play a more full and effective role in preventing poverty in rural areas,so as to better consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and promote rural revitalization. |
