| Wuyuan County is a green gem located in the city of Shangrao,Jiangxi Province.It is situated at the intersection of three provinces: Jiangxi,Zhejiang,and Anhui,and boasts a beautiful natural environment and a long cultural history.Wuyuan County is extremely rich in tourism resources.As of the end of 2019,Wuyuan County has one national 5a-class scenic spot and 134a-class scenic spots,not only that,but Wuyuan County is also the only national3a-level scenic spot in the whole county.Tourism has become an important industry driving Wuyuan County’s economic and social development,and a bright business card for Wuyuan County’s external image.In recent years,Wuyuan County has continuously improved its tourism infrastructure,steadily promoted innovative tourism products,optimized the rural tourism industry structure,and significantly enhanced its tourism appeal.However,the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 disrupted the pace of Wuyuan County’s tourism development.Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic that has dealt a severe blow to many industries in China,including the tourism industry,Wuyuan’s tourism industry has also suffered a major setback.It is of great significance to scientifically understand the dynamic changes and spatial characteristics of the tourist market in Wuyuan County under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic,in order to promote the recovery and development of Wuyuan County’s tourism industry from the pandemic.This article uses Baidu search index to measure tourism demand,and based on the theory of tourism background trend lines,it applies analysis methods such as customer attraction radius,distance accumulation curve,spatial autocorrelation,and geographic detector to explore the fluctuations in tourism demand in the Wuyuan County market and its spatial differentiation under the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.The results show:(1)Under the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic,the decline in tourism demand from the customer market for Wuyuan has been significant,especially with the highest loss rate in the first quarter after the outbreak;(2)Under the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic,the cumulative demand curve of Wuyuan County’s neighboring tourist-source areas rose rapidly,while the cumulative demand curve of medium-distance tourist-source areas fell,and the proportion of tourism demand in the middle-distance tourist-source areas dropped,however,the radius of Wuyuan County’s tourist attraction has slightly increased;(3)Under the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic,the Moran’s I index of tourism demand for Wuyuan from the customer source did not change significantly,showing weak spatial agglomeration characteristics both before and after the outbreak of the pandemic;(4)Under the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic,the number of cold spots and the number of sub-hot spots in Wuyuan County increased,and the pattern of hot and cold spots changed greatly.The spatial pattern of Wuyuan County’s tourism market experienced a big adjustment.However,in the process of adjustment,the “ High-high ” cluster area has always been Jiangxi province and its surrounding provinces,indicating that the source of short-and medium-distance tourists has always been Wuyuan County’s key tourism market;(5)The COVID-19 pandemic did not have a significant impact on the spatial pattern of the domestic tourist market in Wuyuan County;(6)The impact of covid-19 on tourism demand in Wuyuan County,the country of origin,decreases with the increase of spatial distance.The covid-19 pandemic has changed the influencing factors of tourism demand in Wuyuan County,but the“GDP growth rate”factor has a strong correlation with the tourism demand in Wuyuan County.In order to speed up the revival of Wuyuan County’s tourism industry,this thesis puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions for the conclusions of the study:(1)Implement differentiated marketing strategies targeting customer markets at different distances;(2)Business promotion to stimulate consumer demand;(3)Create a Wuyuan County “Micro-vacation” market. |
