| As the primary industry,agriculture is the foundation of China’s economic development.Shanxi’s agriculture is unique,a systematic study of the export competitiveness and influencing factors of Shanxi’s agricultural products will help determine the key factors that affect the promotion of Shanxi’s agricultural product export competitiveness.This paper takes the export competitiveness of Shanxi farming products.Its influencing factors as the research object analyzes the current situation of agricultural product export trade in Shanxi Province from the scale and structure of agricultural product exports and uses the evaluation index system to analyze and evaluate the export competitiveness of farm products.Based on the diamond model of Shanxi Province as the primary theoretical basis,the relevant indicators of the main factors affecting the competitiveness of agricultural products trade in Shanxi Province are selected to construct a model for empirical analysis.This paper draws the following conclusions through systematic research.First,compared with the other five central agricultural product export provinces,Shanxi Province has a lower revealed comparative advantage index,trade competitiveness index,international market share and mainly focuses on inter-industry trade.Hence,its agricultural product export competitiveness is weak.Secondly,the five indicators of agricultural land area,the proportion of employees in the primary industry,the Engel coefficients of urban and rural residents,and the total power of agricultural machinery have a positive effect on the competitiveness of farm products.In contrast,the per capita GDP,the added value of regional GDP in the primary industry,the freight volume,the amount of chemical fertilizer application,and the expenditure on agriculture,forestry,and water affairs hurt the export competitiveness of Shanxi agricultural products;among them,the impact of the total power of agricultural machinery on the export competitiveness of agricultural products the most apparent effect.At the end of this paper,from four angles of production,demand,industry,and policy,some suggestions are put forward to improve the export competitiveness.For production,improve the quality of employees,provide support for agricultural development,and improve the mechanization level of agricultural product production;for demand,grasp consumer preferences and optimize the export market structure;for industry,improve the supporting industrial chain of agricultural product production and implement the brand strategy of characteristic agricultural products;for policies,improve the standards of farm products,strengthen quality supervision,and build and improve a new agricultural subsidy policy system. |
