| In the White Paper on China’s Comprehensive Well-off Society published in2021,it was proposed to help rural households increase their income through industrial revitalization,expanding employment,and deepening reforms.Therefore,the development of leisure agriculture has become a promising way to drive rural revitalization,promote local economic development,and increase farmers’ income.Xinjian District in Nanchang City,an important urban area in Jiangxi Province,possesses favorable natural conditions,ecological environment,and potential for developing leisure agriculture.Therefore,this article aims to explore the willingness of farmers in Xinjian District to participate in the development of leisure agriculture,analyze influencing factors,and provide a sample for promoting rural revitalization in Jiangxi Province.This study adopted a literature review and questionnaire survey,which surveyed the basic information of farmers in Xinjian District,social environmental information,farmers’ participation awareness,and government support status.The SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze and validate these factors’ impact on the development of leisure agriculture through binary logistic regression.The study found that(1)gender does not significantly affect farmers’ participation in leisure agriculture,but the likelihood of participation decreases with age.The higher the farmers’ education level,the more likely they are to participate in the construction of leisure agriculture.Simultaneously,the possibility of farmers participating in the construction of leisure agriculture increases with the increase in the population of family labor,the increase in the area of cultivable land,and the level of understanding of leisure agriculture.(2)The distance between farmers’ houses or land and the core scenic area does not significantly affect farmers’ participation in leisure agriculture.However,there is a significant relationship between farmers’ participation in leisure agriculture and the number of tourists near their homes or land,as well as their satisfaction with the development of leisure agriculture in their village.As satisfaction and the number of tourists increase,the likelihood of residents participating in leisure agriculture also increases.(3)The increase in farmers’ annual income due to leisure agriculture does not significantly affect farmers’ participation in leisure agriculture.However,the main reasons for farmers’ participation in leisure agriculture may lie in family and government encouragement,as well as the influence of people around them.(4)The likelihood of farmers participating in leisure agriculture increases with the increase in government support and promotion.Policy support and publicity are crucial for farmers to understand the real situation of leisure agriculture.Based on the practical findings,this article combines stakeholder theory,public participation theory,and empowerment theory,and integrates field surveys.The study suggests that the government should increase policy and financial support for leisure agriculture to achieve mutual support and cooperative development among farmers,government,community,and private capital.Attention should be paid to enhancing empowerment,increasing the publicity of leisure agriculture,and promoting its development to attract more farmers to participate in leisure agriculture. |
