| The export of high-tech products is significant manifestation of a country’s technological level, innovation capability, research and development capability and core competitiveness. In recent years, with the deepening integration of the rapidly developing digital technology and the economy, countries are gradually entering the era of digital economy. The digital economy has changed the traditional methods of production, consumption, marketing and trade, creating new development opportunities for high-tech goods export. It will have a profound impact on the high-quality development of trade to explore the path that the digital economy affects high-tech products export in the era of rapid development of the digital economy. In order to explore this issue, this paper first defines the connotation of the digital economy and ternary margin of high-tech products export, and sorts out the theory of the digital economy and its three dimensions on the ternary margin of high-tech product exports. Then this paper establishes a comprehensive evaluation index system for the digital economy from three dimensions: digital infrastructure, innovation capability, institutional guarantee and policy environment, and calculates the development level of digital economy and its three dimensions in various countries. Then this paper uses the export data of CEPII BACI,based on H-K ternary margin decomposition framework decomposes the export of high-tech products into extensive margin, price margin and quantity margin. Finally, based on digital economy level from 2011 to2017 and the ternary marginal decomposition results of high-tech product exports, comparative analysis and empirical analysis are carried out.The research results show that: firstly, the level of digital economy development in developing countries is not as good as that in developed countries.Recently, the level of China’s digital economy has been rapidly improved, and the progress in digital infrastructure construction is more obvious, but the overall level is still lower than that of developed countries.Secondly, our country has different emphasis on the high-tech products export’s ternary margin to different countries.Thirdly, the digital economy can increase extensive margins and quantity margins of high-tech product exports, but it has a significant negative impact on the price margin due to cost reductions.Among three different dimensions, institutional guarantees and policy environment have the most obvious impact on the ternary margin of hightech product exports.Fourthly, the impact of development of digital economy on countries with low digital economic development levels is more prominent.Fifthly, the impact of digital economic development on HT1 and HT2 is not significantly different. To sum up,this paper believes that my country should strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure and laws and regulations, improve the level of innovation, create a good environment for research and development, which can promote the development of the digital economy and eventually promote the export of high-tech products. |
