Research On The Impact Of Urban Employees Endowment Insurance Security Level On Urban And Rural Income Gap

The income gap between urban and rural residents has always been the core issue that the Party and the state attach great importance to.The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee included common prosperity into the vision of 2035.However,the income gap between urban and rural areas is relatively high at present.Effectively narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas has become the only way to achieve common prosperity.Social security has strong pertinency and directness to narrow the income gap,which is an important way to narrow the urban-rural income gap.Therefore,combining with the rapid development of urbanization and aging of population structure,it is of great significance to study the effect of pension insurance of urban workers on the income gap between urban and rural areas.At first,this thesis briefly introduces the pension insurance and the related concept of income gap between urban and rural areas,as well as the current overall,various places,the employee pension insurance guarantee level and the current situation difference of income gap between urban and rural areas.Secondly,this thesis reviews and studies relevant literature and related theories,and proposes the logical mechanism of employee pension insurance on urban-rural income gap and the research hypothesis of this thesis.Thirdly,the panel data of 31 provinces and cities(except Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)from 2013 to 2020 are selected,and the benchmark regression model is constructed to empirically verify the improvement of workers’ pension insurance on urban-rural income gap.China is divided into eastern,central and western regions according to geographical location for further analysis and research,verifying the research hypothesis of this thesis.Finally,based on the empirical research results,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.The empirical results show that,on the whole,the improvement of pension insurance for urban workers contributes to the narrowing of the urban-rural income gap.Further research shows that the degree of influence varies among different regions.Among them,the improvement of pension insurance for urban workers can significantly improve the urban-rural income gap in the eastern and western regions,although it helps to improve the urban-rural gap in the central region,but the effect is not obvious.Based on this,we put forward the following suggestions combining the actual conditions.First,raise the pooling level of endowment insurance.Second,we will speed up rural modernization.Third,vigorously promote the construction of the external environment of urban workers’ endowment insurance.
