| At present, the world is experiencing major changes unseen in a century. The proposal of the "Belt and Road" initiative is a major decision in response to this great change. Its construction not only accelerates the efficient allocation of global resources and deep market integration, but also promotes the development of countries and regions along the route. At the same time,it has also promoted economic and trade exchanges between China and countries along the "Belt and Road".Under the "Belt and Road" initiative,China’s export trade volume with countries along the "Belt and Road" has been rising, and logistics performance,as a key factor in promoting export trade, will promote the rapid development of China’s export trade. However,at present, the international logistics performance level of countries along the "Belt and Road" is uneven and has great differences, which may lead to obstacles to China’s trade with countries along the route. Therefore,in order to promote the smooth trade between China and countries along the "Belt and Road",this paper delves into the relationship between international logistics performance and China’s export trade. This article is based on the International Logistics Performance Index(LPI)released by the World Bank and data from 61 sample countries along the Belt and Road from 2007 to 2018.This paper first analyzes the current situation of China’s export trade and the current situation of international logistics performance of countries along the Belt and Road. Then, this paper uses the extended trade gravity model to empirically explore the impact of logistics performance on China’s exports to countries along the "Belt and Road".Furthermore, this paper analyzes the differentiated impact of logistics performance on China’s exports to countries of different sizes and regions according to scale and region. The study shows that the international logistics performance index of countries along the "Belt and Road" has a significant and positive impact on China’s exports to the country. And for every unit increase in the international logistics performance index of countries along the route,China’s exports to the country will increase by 36.6%.In addition, the six sub-indicators of the logistics performance of countries along the Belt and Road all have a significant and positive impact on China’s export trade. In addition, among the countries along the Belt and Road, the international logistics performance of small-scale countries along the Belt and Road has the most significant impact on China’s exports to the country.Among the countries along the six regional regions of Southeast Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States,Mongolia,South Asia,West Asia and North Africa,Central Asia and Central and Eastern Europe, the international logistics performance of Central and Eastern Europe along the route is the most significant for China’s exports to this country. Finally, based on the conclusions of data analysis and empirical analysis, targeted suggestions are put forward. |
