Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of China’s economy and society and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, consumers have put forward higher requirements for the quality and safety of agricultural products such as vegetables. However, due to the limitations of agricultural risks, market transactions, and business concepts,as well as extensive government regulation and guidance, and inefficient enterprise organization drive, farmers, especially "vegetable farmers",as the main producers, are seriously lacking in endogenous motivation to actively engage in green production, resulting in increasingly serious agricultural environmental pollution and vegetable quality and safety issues. For example, the "Hebei Poisoned Ginger Incident in 2020" and the "Yunnan Pesticide Abuse Incident in 2020" have caused widespread social concern.Farmers should not be allowed to become "laggards" in the agricultural green revolution. In order to fundamentally solve the above problems, starting from the source of green vegetable development, based on the micro production behavior of vegetable farmers,in-depth discussion on the green production behavior of vegetable farmers is of great significance in solving the current issue of vegetable insecurity, achieving green production for vegetable farmers, and promoting the green development of agriculture. This study is based on farmer behavior theory, sustainable development theory, and planned behavior theory.Taking Shouguang,Shandong Province,as an example, through field research and qualitative analysis, six factors affecting green production behavior of vegetable farmers are obtained, including individual characteristics of farmers, farmers’ farming status, farmers’ cognitive dimensions, government policy dimensions, production organization dimensions, and market dimensions.Based on planned behavior theory,A theoretical model of influencing factors on green production behavior of vegetable farmers has been formed.According to this model, combined with the specific situation of field research and relevant literature, after multiple adjustments and modifications, the "Questionnaire on the Production Behavior of Vegetable Planting Farmers in Shouguang City" was finally formed.Based on the binary logistic regression model,a measurement model for green production behavior of farmers was constructed.Using SPSS16.0 software,848 valid questionnaires were regressed multiple times, and the measurement formulas and judgment criteria for three types of green production behavior of vegetable farmers were obtained,The impact of various variables on the three types of green production behavior of vegetable farmers was analyzed and summarized.Propose guiding policy recommendations from the four dimensions of government, market, production organizations, and farmers to provide theoretical reference for formulating corresponding policies. The research concludes that:(1)Currently,there are still problems in the green development of vegetable agriculture in China, such as the lack of environmental awareness among vegetable farmers, the low demand for green technology among vegetable farmers, the lack of policy guidance, and the imperfect resource recovery system;(2)Factors that have a significant impact on the green production behavior of vegetable farmers include whether farmers purchase agricultural materials through production organizations, whether the government supervises the planting behavior of vegetable farmers, and whether the government provides subsidies when using green production methods;(3)The guiding policies for the green production behavior of vegetable farmers include establishing a green production oriented agricultural subsidy mechanism, establishing agricultural cooperatives, encouraging farmers to join agricultural production organizations, broadening the channels for farmers to obtain green production knowledge, and enriching green production training subjects.
