With the continuous expansion of the sharing economy, the sharing in the manufacturing sector—capacity sharing can effectively solve the problem of mismatch between supply and demand. At the same time, the establishment of a platform can fully integrate the scattered supply and demand information in the market and improve the efficiency of sharing transactions. In the context of capacity sharing, this study considers a two-level supply chain composed of an oligopoly capacity supplier and users, and introduces platform markets.Based on the above context, how the capacity supplier chooses the platform mode and whether he will participate in capacity sharing are studied.First of all, when the supplier does not participate in capacity sharing, three modes are built: an offline sharing market,a self-built platform sharing market and a thirdparty platform sharing market.Under the conditions of exogenous and endogenous capacity management service level, the supplier’s mode choice is analyzed. It is found that the transaction scale is larger under the platform sharing modes.Under the condition of exogenous service level, when the commission charged by the platform is lower or the service level is higher and the capacity management cost is lower, the supplier will choose to build the platform by itself.Under the condition of endogenous service level, the supplier will also choose to build the platform by itself.Secondly, when the supplier participates in capacity sharing, two modes are built:a self-built platform sharing market and a third-party platform sharing market. It is found that capacity management service level plays a key role in mode choice, and shared operating cost is also an influencing factor. In the two cases of exogenous and endogenous service level, the supplier have different conditions for mode choice.Under the condition of a exogenous service level, when the shared operating cost is lower and the service level is higher, the supplier chooses to build its own platform, otherwise he will choose a third-party platform.Under the condition of endogenous service level, when the membership fee is higher, the supplier will choose to build its own platform. But when the membership fee is lower,if the shared operating cost is lower, the supplier chooses the third-party platform, and vice versa, chooses to build its own platform. Finally, the choice conditions for whether the supplier will participate in capacity sharing under self-built platform and third-party platform are analyzed. When the capacity management service level is exogenous, under the self-built platform mode, the supplier will choose to participate in sharing.Under the third-party platform, when the membership fee is lower, the supplier will also participate in sharing. However, when the service level is endogenous, the profit when the supplier builds its own platform and participates in sharing is always lower.Whether the supplier participates in sharing on a third-party platform is related to membership fee, marginal cost, and shared operating cost.At the same time, the impact of shared operating cost and service level on prices and quantities is analyzed, and also the size of prices and quantities under different modes.
