In 2013,the state proposed the "Belt and Road" initiative, and the Guanzhong urban agglomeration,as an important gateway for the western region to the central and eastern regions, ushered in new opportunities for economic development. In 2018,the "Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration Development Plan" was released, which proposed that the Guanzhong urban agglomeration develop the economy through tourism.Tourism development cannot be separated from the construction of transport infrastructure, the interconnected transportation network system promotes the further development of tourism. In 2019,the State Council published the "Outline for the Construction of a Strong Transportation Country",which clearly declared the new demand of "deepening the development of transportation and tourism",making the integrated development of transportation infrastructure and tourism a new trend in the transformation and development of tourism. The Guanzhong urban agglomeration has rich characteristic tourism resources and good transportation level in the northwest region, the development of tourism has become a factor that cannot be ignored in driving economic development. So it is of practical significance to explore the relationship between tourism and economic growth in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration.Based on the policy background of "the Belt and Road",this article adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, based on economic theories related to tourism and economic growth, and on the basis of existing academic research results, summarizes the uncertainty of the impact of tourism on the economy, and analyzes the impact path of tourism on economic growth from two aspects: the amount of production factor input and the improvement of factor productivity; Then it analyzes the mechanism of the effect of transportation infrastructure on tourism economy. At the level of current situation analysis, the Guanzhong urban agglomeration currently has rapid economic growth and prosperous tourism industry, but there are gaps in development among different regions. The current situation analysis provides a practical basis for empirical testing. In empirical analysis,a fixed effect panel model is used to explore the relationship between tourism and economic growth in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration; The spatial weight matrix is introduced to deeply explore the spatial relationship between tourism development and economic growth. Finally, the relevant indicators of transport infrastructure are used as threshold variables to explore the nonlinear relationship between tourism and economic growth. It is found that:(1)The development of tourism and economic growth in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration shows a good trend, and tourism is an important "driving force" for driving economic growth;(2)The tourism development and economic growth of the Guanzhong urban agglomeration have significant spatial autocorrelation, and the spatial lag model and spatial error model indicate a significant spatial dependence between the two;(3)The empirical results of the threshold effect model indicate that there is a threshold effect between the tourism industry and economic growth in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration, and the relationship between the two is non-linear;(4)The development of tourism in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration drives regional economic growth.By optimizing production factors, cultivating new growth poles for tourism development, breaking spatial and regional constraints, enhancing inter provincial economic exchanges.Combining industrial integration and development to promote the transformation and upgrading of economic development has become an effective means to accelerate the tourism industry in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration and drive economic growth.
