In recent years, with the rapid development of our economy and society, the living standards of urban and rural residents have improved significantly. While fully recognizing our achievements in economic development,we still need to recognize the existing unbalanced and inadequate urban and rural development, and the income gap between urban and rural areas is an urgent problem to be solved. The implementation of the strategy of rural revitalization plays a very significant role in promoting the development of rural economy and reducing the income gap between urban and rural residents.Among them, industrial revitalization is the basis and premise of the whole rural revitalization. The mutual integration of the first, second and third industries in rural areas is helpful to promote the development of agriculture and industrial prosperity in the region to achieve the purpose of industrial prosperity. Therefore,by promoting the integrated development of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas, cultivating new forms of agriculture and giving further play to the income effect of industrial integration,it plays an important role in promoting the income increase of farmers and promoting the common prosperity of rural society.Hubei Province,as a province with developed agricultural production,is also an important province affecting the economic development of central China. It should adapt to local conditions, promote the integrated development of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas, achieve industrial prosperity,so as to further increase the per capita income in rural areas and narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents.Based on the existing literature, this paper first defines the concepts of urban-rural income gap and rural industrial integration, and takes the theory of industrial integration, the theory of rural versatility, and the theories related to urban-rural income gap as the main theoretical basis, and summarizes the influence mechanism of rural industrial integration on urban-rural income gap. Then, using the panel data of 16 prefecture-level cities in Hubei Province from 2010 to 2021,the entropy method was used to measure the level of rural industry integration in Hubei Province, and a fixed-effect model was established to empirically investigate the relationship between rural industry integration and urban-rural income gap. Finally, the typical cases of rural industry integration in Hubei Province are analyzed. The results show that from 2010 to 2021,the relative income gap between urban and rural residents in Hubei Province continued to narrow, experiencing a change process of first decreasing, then slightly increasing and then gradually decreasing, but the absolute income gap between urban and rural residents continued to expand. The integration development of rural industries in Hubei Province has achieved certain results. The overall integration level shows a gradual upward trend, and the integration level of prefecture-level cities is significantly different, but all show a fluctuating upward trend. The integration of rural industries in Hubei Province has promoted the narrowing of urban-rural income gap to some extent, and factors such as per capita GDP and urbanization level also play a positive role in promoting the effect. The input factor output rate and fixed asset investment have little effect on narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.Based on the research results and the actual situation, relevant suggestions were put forward from four aspects: government support, agricultural multifunctionality, agricultural industry chain and interest linkage mechanism.
