Environmental changes and intensified competition call for employees to show more voice behavior,but companies in the Chinese context are prone to trap the dilemma of employees ‘knowing but not speaking’.With the development of positive organizational behavior,leadership humor has entered the field of scholars.In view of the role of leadership humor in regulating organizational climate,reducing employees’ silent behavior,and improving organizational performance,this research speculates that leader affiliative humor has a positive impact on employee voice behavior.Considering that Chinese society is a society of ‘the pattern of difference sequence’,and the culture of authority orientation is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people,it will inevitably have an impact on employees’ work behavior.Therefore,this research introduces the insider identification and power distance tendency with traditional Chinese cultural characteristics to comprehensively explore the impact of leader affiliative humor on employee voice behavior.To sum up,this research starts from the perspectives of social cognition theory and social exchange theory,takes insider identification as a mediating variable,and power distance tendency as a moderator variable,to deeply explore leader affiliative humor how to promotes employee voice behavior,and when this influence is effective.The results show that:(1)leader affiliative humor has a significant positive impact on employee voice behavior;(2)insider identification plays a mediating role between leader affiliative humor and employee voice behavior;(3)Power distance tendency significantly negatively moderates the relationship between leader affiliative humor and employee voice behavior,and plays a moderating role between leader affiliative humor and insider identification;(4)Power distance tendency significantly negatively moderates the mediating effect of insider identification between leader affiliative humor and employee voice behavior.This research has certain theoretical and practical significance.In the theoretical sense,this study enriches the research on leadership humor and explores the relationship between leader affiliative humor and employee voice behavior;on this basis,this research takes insider identification as a mediating variable,and power distance tendency as a moderator variable to deeply analyze the internal influence mechanism of leader affiliative humor on employee voice behavior.In the practical sense,this research provides some reference for the management practice of the organization.In order to stimulate employee voice behavior,the Organization can encourage leaders to show affiliative humor through recruitment and training,create a relaxed and happy organizational atmosphere,and provide employees with more organizational support.at the same time,leaders should Carry out humor training consciously,and try to match the leadership style with the power distance tendency of employees,so as to maximize the stimulation of employee voice behavior.
