Pure titanium, which is called "biometal", and titanium alloys have excellent biocompatibility, supper corrosion resistance, good properties of biomechanics and multiple- processing characteritics.Branemark, the famous dental implantologist of Sweden, first researched the dental implants made of commercially pure titanium (C.P.Ti) through animal experiments in 1952, and successfully put his research results into practice in 1965. It began in the late of 1970s that dentists attempted to make dental crowns, bridges, clasps, denture bases and dental frameworks using C.P.Ti and titanium alloys. Japanese first began to exploit and manufacture dental casting machines for the purpose of casting C.P.Ti and titanium alloys. Since the middle of 1980s, they have successfully used this kind of machines to produce dental components with C.P.Ti and titanium alloys. With the development of the technics of precision casting, sparking crosion,computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), soldering, Finishing and polishing, the practical research on C.P.Ti and titanium alloys used in prosthodontics have been becoming deeper and wider. The use of C.P.Ti and titanium alloys in dentistry is limited because the prostheses made of them, which color is silver gray, does not please to the eye, espec-ially used for anterior teeth. Therefore, it is very important to investigate and manu-facture the veneering materials used to the substrates , which are made of C. P. Ti and titanium alloys, of crowns and bridges. There are two ways to make veneer on dental crowns and bridges made of metals and alloys. One is to fusing porcelain on these prostheses and the other is to bond veneer made of composite resin or ceramic to these prostheses with adhesive agent. In this article, we established the technological process of fusing Ceratin, which is specially produced for the use on the prostheses made of C.P.Ti and titanium alloys, to the surface of the samples prepared from this kind of metal and alloys, measured the shear bond strengths of Ceratin and substrates...
