Comparing different sub-dialect groups in Hakka,Hakka and other Chinese dialects,and Chinese dialects and minority languages with both diachronic and synchronic perspectives,the thesis is a study on some important phonological features and some special words' spoken sound in the Hakka dialect based on the rich materials contained in the fieldwork reports of Hakka published in recent years. In the respect of initials,the author mainly indicates the change types of some groups of Middle Chinese initials,such as the groups of jian ,xiao jing and zhi zhuang zhang of the Hakka dialect,and argues the change cause and progress of some words" special spoken sounds. In the issue of rims,the thesis discusses the change features of the MC Kaikou rim from the viewpoint of Deng (level) and She (group),and offers an in-depth inquiry into the differences between and ,and ,and from a perspective of the historical change of Chinese phonology. As for the tone,the thesis,based on rich data,discusses one of the most important features of the Hakka dialect,i.e. voiced initials with Shang tone should be pronounced in Yinping tone,together with the phenomena that the archaic sonorant initials with MC entering tone or Qu tone are in the regular polarization into two catergories in accordance with the voiced vs. unvoiced dichotomy. At last,the thesis offers an etymological notes on the special spoken sound of some words,such as (milk), (mouth),and (pick out) in Hakka.
