Jingdian Shiwen is an important dictionary with both pronunciations and meanings of words in Chinese classics, and it is a must when people study old Chinese. In helping our research, we construct a data-base including the words, pronunciations, meanings and original texts. we sampled about 60 words with bilabial and lateral initials as our research object, and we get such conclusion:1. Most phonetic change mophology are around verbs in old Chinese, but the word class and the sound don't always change simultaneously.2.There are derivations of nouns, verbs and adjectives for the use of extending, perfective aspect and honorific in old Chinese, and also sound changes on diminutive and grammaticalization. After the introduction there are three main chapters:Chapter One is the "Word List of phonetic change mophology in Jingdian Shiwen". This part compiles a total of 60 pairs of words, which exhibit the phenomenon of phonetic change mophology. In certain pairs there are more than one correlation between sounds and meanings, so we pay more attention on concluding the law of the correlation. Moreover, we also do some statistic work on the number of fanqie, and the analysis of the phenomenon of the additive sounds, the devoicing change and the sandhi.Chapter Two discusses the rules between pronunciations and meanings, which is concluded amone the words with bilabial and lateral initials. And the extending aspect, perfective aspect and honorific are discussed as well.Chapter Three discusses six special topics. We discussed about the problems in Jingdian Shiwen itself, in the notes of the fourteen classics and in the grammar. For instance, the necessity to judge whether the meaning is the original or additional meaning of a word in the analysis of the correlation between sound and meaning; the sound of "mou" in the phrase "mou ren" in Zhouli; the sound of verbs acting as attributives in old Chinese, etc.
