City Image City - Mainland China Film (1949-1966)

This article is a comprehensive review and analysis of the Chinese socialist film from 1949-1966 .This article studies how film represented reality ,the people's opinion of cities, the government's policies how to develop the urban , the citizens'daily way of behaviour and complex connections of film and the reality .From 1949-1966, the CCP government focuses more on the rate of industrialization than improving the People's living lever. The gap of urban and rural, workers and peasants, brainwork and bodywork becomes more and more big.This article studies urban and the film of urban , concerning as the connections of urban and rural, the space of urban and the daily life of urban.From 1949-1957, these films represents different connections of urban and rural from the reality. From 1958-1960, several films shapes the connections of urban and rural that urban"helps"rural. From 1961-1966, some film creates the connections of urban and rural that rural"helps"urban by reason of Rustication Movement.The films from 1949-1966 reflect how the space of urban had been reconstructed , these films give some significance to the space of urban as well. In these seventeen years, the labour people's status of politics and culture lever had been improved greatly. But the CCP government strengthens the control of the labour peple as the same time.The films from 1949-1966 construct a new view and way of daily life which connect closely with the develop of industry.
