A Study Of The Language Contact Between Putonghua And Linyi Dialect

Social linguistics always emphasizes the diversity of language, while the personal and social language diversity origins from language contact. Thus,the study of language contact has always been an important part ,even a hot spot of social linguistics.Language contact is one of the driving forces to the evolution and development of a language or a dialect.The study on language contact is an important way for studying the development and change of a language,also is important to promote the standardization of the language.With the popularization of Putonghua, Linyi dialect and Putonghua contact more frequently. Under the strong influence of Putonghua , Linyi dialect has changed openly or secretly. Most of these changes are seen by the synchronic variables. The traditional dialect study is not enough to describe the variables and the change of Linyi dialect. In order to make a clear description and have a reasonable explanation, the Linyi dialect study requires social and linguistic approach.The purpose of this research is followered as such: First, the use of social linguistics theories and methods makes the investigation and the research of Linyi dialect more scientific and more Detailed ,so it can provide Linyi dialect with new materials and new ideas, and can make up for the study of the Shandong dialect which has neglected Linyi dialect because of the lack of research. Second, to describe and analyse the interaction between Putonghua and Linyi dialect can make up for the research on Mandarin which has been neglected in the study of language contact by lack of matrial. Third, through the analysis of the different Putonghua level in Linyi dialect and the interference of Linyi dialect, we can effectively guide local people to use their own language and offer the government some lessons existing in the process of language use.This paper consists of six parts.The forward is a brief introduction about the research status quo, meaning and methods. Chapter one introduces briefly the geographic profile,the dialect definition as well as the fundamental characteristics of Linyi dialect. Combining social factors such as age, sex, occupation and education, the second chapter describes the Linyi dialect variation and analyzes the voice variance in the light of the theory of glossary pervasion. In the point of vocabulary system's change, the third chapter describes the impact of Putonghua on Linyi dialect and expounds the contact mechanism. The fourth chapter discusses the interference of Linyi dialect in the process of Putonghua learning by describing the difficulty of Putonghua learning and the Linyi accent Putonghua.The last chapter is a summary.It pionts out that Putonghua and Linyi dialect affect each other in the language contact. Under the strong influence of Putonghua, Linyi dialect has varied and changed imbalancedly . To make the future research deeply,this paper also tells us the problems of this study.
