In late nineteenth Century, early twentieth Century, China was in thenational crisis. Awaking the masses of the people and improving thequality of the people became the urgent problem. A number of peoplewith lofty ideals actively participated in the education reform and socialreform movement; with Projector, film, broadcast and other means ofeducation used in education reform, Audio-visual education graduallybecame the main tool of education.As the political center of government of the Republic of China,Jiangsu province has special geographic and regional characteristics andassumes more educational, economic, cultural and social responsibility,which makes the audio-visual education develop greatly. JiangsuProvincial College of Education and Provincial People’s educationmuseum are important mechanism for implementing the audio-visualeducation in Jiangsu Province. Their close contact with training,planning and implementation promotes provincial audio-visual educationin talent cultivation, academic communication and research. Jiangsuaudio-visual education promotion and dissemination influence andpromote the development of national educational technology. Soexploration of the development history of Jiangsu audio-visual educationand study on the mode of transmission of the audio-visual education ideahas important significance in summarizing the audio-visual educationtheory and researching Chinese education historyThis paper discusses the following aspects:1. The background of audio-visual education development in JiangsuProvinceIn the early period of1920s, Audio-visual education gradually became the main tool of education. Audio-visual education developedwith the mass education movement. This part introduces objectiveconditions of the rise of Jiangsu province audio-visual education in thisperiod.2. The general situation of the development of Audio-visualeducation in Jiangsu ProvinceMainly from the organization and management of audio-visualeducation in Jiangsu Province, literacy education that the school andsociety carry out, film education and broadcasting education, this partfocuses on the development of audio-visual education in Jiangsu, with theaid of the historical literature, coverage, cost statistics and the socialreport. Focusing on the activities that Zhenjiang public educationMuseum, Nanjing public education Museum and Xuzhou publiceducation Museum carry out, this part reviews the development history ofJiangsu province around the audio-visual education during the period ofRepublic of China in recent30years3. Talent cultivation in Audio-visual educationFrom the point of development of audio-visual education andteaching in Colleges and Universities, Social audio-visual educationaltraining activities, this part expounds the talent cultivation andpopularization activities in audio-visual education in Jiangsu province. The social impact of Jiangsu audio-visual education and existingproblemsFirstly, the chapter expounds the origin and development history ofJiangsu audio-visual education. It shows that the feature of thegeographical and human environment and the social demand give birth tothe Jiangsu province audio-visual education. Active promotion and guidefrom the government and social institutions facilitates audio-visualeducation development in Jiangsu Province. Secondly, the article alsoshows the problems in the Personnel, teaching theory and educationfacilities of audio-visual education according to the historical data.
