However, the majority of problems involved in writing, such as shortage of imformation, passivity of expressiong, restriction of thinking and disorder of regular writing, could be solved effectively by exploiting the advantages of audio-visual apparatus.Not only dose this essay precisely demonstrate the sorts, features and use rules of audio-visual sources, it also analyzes the methods of selecting and utilizing preeminent audio-visual materials to assist highschool composition instruction, to establishing an effective class showing the contemporary style as well as various individuality. Besides, this essay illustrates the practical research of audio-visual materials in highschool composition teaching from three aspects. They are application meaning, practical effort and the recognition and improvement of disadvantages. More precisely, the essay systematically discourses the exertion of audio-visual materials by teachers based on three different genres incluing narration, expository prose and argumentation, within which teachers could enhance students'recognition, train their thinking and cultivate their temperament. Simultaneously, the students will tend to extend writing interest, strengthen writing technique, accumulate writing materials and refine the use of delicate words on their own initiative.Finally, this essay proposes and discusses the disadvantages and deficiencies of using audio-visual technology. The traditional teaching methods still keep the irreplaceable attraction and advantages. Methods will be exploded to preserve the balance and integration between modernity and tradition, as well as offer auxiliary function and beneficial assistance to the further research and practice of the profession.
