Gyro Total Station, which combines gyroscope and total station into a whole, is used todetermine the true north direction. Compared to other coordinate azimuth acquisition modes, it isnot subject to time and environment and other conditions, and its observation is simple,convenient and is capable of observation of all-weather, which has high efficiency. Even so, itcan guarantee high accuracy. With the rapid development of the progress of the projectconstruction and science and technology in mapping, Gyro Total Station plays an important rolein our country’s economic construction and national defense construction.But the automation degree of the majority of gyroscope/Gyro Total Station in domestic andforeign is not high enough. Its application software in related engineering is less, and thecalculation of coordinate azimuth of directed edge is still in a stage of calculation by pen now.So the author, at the base of the process of determinating azimuth coordinates of undergrounddirectional edge, discusses the calculation method of coordinate azimuth angle. And the authorputs forward a set of automatic solver software of the coordinate azimuth angle. The softwarehas practical significance and application value in the data processing of undergroundGyroscopic Orientation.At the end, the author, at the mean square error and standard deviation standpoints, assessesthe measurement precision of Sokkia GP3130R3Gyro-Total-Station, using the reversal methodand transit method respectively. And at the same time the author discusses the question of thechoosen of observation method.
