These days,there are increasingly application softwares in engineering along withthe popularity of the computer and improvement in the ability to use the computertechnology. Whereas, the application software in the geotechnology engineering isn'tdevelopment sufficiently. With the increased investment in the resource exploration, itis necessary to develop "the design system in geological core drilling " . Through the research about "the design of borehole structure in geologicaldrilling",which is one part of "The design system in geological core drilling", theconclusions is as following: 1. Establish the database of stratums, including 524 types of the stratums, thepictures and the drilling rank. 2. Develop the database of drilling method, storing the maxim drillability, therequirement, the advantage of every method. 3. Conclude the principle and the way to design the end borehole diameter. 4. Conclude the principle to confirm the point of the changed borehole diameter. 5. Formulate the database of the rule of the casing size, including the outsidediameter and the diameter of the inside screw thread. 6. Establish the database of the casing material, including the yield of steel,counter pull intension and so on, supplying the bases and requirement for checkingthe drop depth. 7. Complete the model of casing optimization computer assistant design, the usercan choose the casing parameter at random and check the casing conveniently. 8. Write the program of the disign of the borehole structure in Delphi7.0, whichcan complete the drawing of the stratums, the dorehole and the casing by hand or bycomputer assistance.
