With the more study of the global change, the study of land use/land cover change is paid more and more attentions. As an influential factor to the environment on the ground, land use/land cover change affects the global environmental evolution, and is paid attentions by many countries in the world.Taking Xinjiang LuoPu County as the sample region based on the integration both remote sensing (RS) which is an important technique means of quickly capturing the land use information and geographical information system (GIS), we detects the land use changes in LuoPu County in 2000. According to TM data of LuoPu County during the study, we reliably and actively identify the changes of land use by selecting the handling technology of images suitable for the study area. The dynamic evolution process of land use and the transformation each other among all types of land use are analyzed quantitatively. As the same time, based on the above study, the author forecasts and deeply studies changeable tendency of land use by using Markov model. The paper is divided into five parts as follows: The first part reviews the present study about land use change and GIS application in studying of land use change. The second part introduces the study target and significance, comments the study Content and methods. The third part introduces the geographical environment in luopu County. The fourth part detailedly introduces the process of the data gaining and analyzing. The five part analyzes the temporal-spatial change about land use. Based on the Markov model, land use change is predicted in the future. The last part analyzes driving forces on the land use of luopu. The results of the research show that the area of grass land, residential land, industrial land and traffic land, Alkali-saline land and bog land has been decreased; the area of forests. tillable land, grass land, gebi desert and desert have been increased.
