Seismic interpretation and evaluation database is a data warehouse oriented at seismic data interpretation and evaluation, and it can reduce duplicated processing and interpreting work, so saving a lot of production time and economy costs. In this paper, under the guidance of GIS thought, focusing on the overall analysis and research of related data, the seismic interpretation and evaluation data were analyzed, organized and unified into a harmonized format; according to analysis of the user needs, the different modules of database building process were designed, the detailed design of the framework, structure and function of the database were carried on, and the seismic interpretation and evaluation database was proposed to established; With brief introduction of GIS, seismic interpretation and database-related concepts and detail introduction of the relationship between spatial database and attribute database, the attribute database was established by collection of statistical data, and the spatial database was established by digital graphics information, including seismic line distribution maps, geological structure maps, seismic reflection t0 maps, and so on, then the design of seismic data interpretation and evaluation database system was carried on, and the database will provide basic data platform for seismic interpretation and evaluation and data resource platform for professional applications and comprehensive researches, to resolve the data chaotic situation on areas of seismic interpretation and evaluation and the problem of inconvenient data exchange, so as to enhance the exploration and development production, the management and the decision-making levels. The Database covers extensive information, providing various means of access to the information and knowledge for users; the functions of the database system include data acquisition, data storage, data access, and so on, and the seismic interpretation and evaluation data can be managed, queried effectively and statistic displayed; And it is a brand new try to introduce the Geographic Information System (GIS) into seismic interpretation and evaluation database establishment. As compared with the conventional relational database, the GIS database has a great deal of merits. Its principle merits include the diversification of information memory and input (including data, file, image and voice, etc.), the diagramming of search interface, and the tooling of search method and the simplification of demand for user's quality. In addition, to test the use of the database, the author have queried the seismic interpretation data of deep fault depressions in the southeast uplift area of Songliao Basin in the database, and it is found that the database is available.
