The powerful management system based on GIS (Geographic Information System) can provide data support for all types of management systems. Treasury management should also be developed towards the direction of standardized, scientific and efficient. The previous manual management approach has been unable to adapt to the work requirements of modern high-efficiency. Therefore, the design of GIS-based warehouse management system to improve the relatively inefficient management status quo is necessary.This paper designs a GIS-based warehouse management system mainly using the Visual Basic language and combined with the database technology. The main work is as following: Firstly, a deeply analysis of warehouse management operations is done, and the required resources of the system are designed. Secondly, the Access database is selected according to the need, then the management agencies, personnel information table and material information table are designed. Thirdly, the operating system module, the main map module, the eagle eye maps module, the layer list module and the attribute information module are designed. Fourthly, various operating systems function modules are implemented using the visual basic programming language. Fifthly, the debugging work is done to implement the network part of the warehouse management.This system implements the location of the warehouse in a regional area, and shows the surrounding roads, environment and other information. In addition, this system also implements the management and statistics of the information that the warehouse stores goods. After the testing, the system has achieved the captability to meet the business needs of the warehouse management, which provides a fast and efficient management tool to the warehouse management agencies.
