The cutting force and cutting temperature are two important parameters in metal cutting. Measuring the cutting force and cutting temperature rapidly and exactly can help to research the metal cutting better. The cutting force and cutting temperature measurement have been the very important experimental technology.For measuring the cutting force and cutting temperature rapidly, exactly and conveniently, the data acquisition and processing system for cutting force and cutting temperature measurement is developed, which implements using LabVIEW.Firstly, the principle of dynamometer and nature thermocouple is dissertated, and the demarcate methods of dynamometer and nature thermocouple is given, By measuring the temperature of tool joint in nature thermocouple loop, the cold point of nature thermocouple is corrected. For measuring the cutting temperature exactly, the signal regulating circuit is designed, and the testing precision is improved.Secondly, based on LabVIEW, the software of data acquisition and processing system for cutting force and cutting temperature measurement is developed. It concludes the data acquisition, data processing, data analysis and saving of data, the calibration of dynamometer, and so on. Because of integrating the data acquisition and data analyse, the efficiency of measurement is improved.Thirdly, the dynamometer is calibrated by using this system, and the coefficient equation of dynamometer is got with the method of linear regression.Finally, the turning experiment is taken with the YT15 as tool and the 45 steel as workpiece, the cutting force and cutting temperature is measured and analyzed by this system, and the result could satisfy the requirements well. The system has been applied to teaching experiment more than 50 times, the result proved the system is feasible and reliable.
