According to the mining practice of Yanbei coal mine, this article has made comprehensive research on strata behavior, tunnel support, type of the working surface arrangement, the equipment and the coal mining machine, the rule of letting out top-coal, and the ratio of mining recovery by means of the field situation, theoretical calculation and numerical simulation. Above research which has obtained constructive achievement mainly aims at the coal high production and highly effective technology, face layout and choice of equipments in mining special thick steep seam.The arrangement of preparation tunnels and working surface is an important constituent in mining area. The science reasonable tunnel and working surface arrangement should create condition for enhancing productivity, simplifying the ratio of mining recovery, guaranteeing the working surface safely. Arrangement of the mining tunnel and working face in steep special thick seam has the very big difference comparing the general caving mining. This article reasonably designed and optimized tunnel system and the working surface arrangement which are mining essential technologies and important foundation condition obtaining the high effective production after quite grasping its rule of strata behavior in mining special thick steep seam.The equipments mainly have the hydraulic pressure support, coal mining machine, front behind the scraper conveyer, reprint machine, adhesive tape conveyer, emulsion pumping station and so on in working face of caving mining.
