With the development of numeric control and computer technique, a typical model of NC equipment is being used more and more widely. The loss caused by breaking down of NC machine tools is far more expensive than that of traditional machine, and fault diagnosis is relatively more complex. How to diagnose and obviate fault quickly and correctly is the most important problem, which can guarantee the machine processing normally.The development of the remote fault diagnosis technology is firstly reviewed in this thesis. A tentative plan based on Internet is proposed for the remote monitoring and fault diagnosis system. Aimed at NC machine tools, the demand of the system is widely analyzed. The key technologies and correlative problems of implementing the system are discussed.The theoretical basis and systematic realization technology are discussed in detail. Principles of some common fault diagnosis technology are described, especially the method of fault tree. The fault reason of NC machine tools is analyzed and an extensive fault database is established. The implementation of remote fault diagnosis in Internet is analyzed, and the forms in the Client and the Server of the fault diagnosis system are described. The system realizes the basic function of NC machine tools fault diagnosis. The database can be modified.
