Virtual instrument (VI) is composed of computer, especially designed hardware and software. It takes advantage of mighty graphic setting and on-line help of computer. The control panel of VI, which accomplishes the date analysis and the date display, is established on the computer. The instrument function can be set on computer, it is also called that the newest technology of computer attains and extends the function of traditional instrument.This paper, which aims at experiment equipment of the gradientless internal recycle reactor and ammonia synthesis kinetic parameter, presents a testing system on line based on virtual instruments technology. Based on the testing requisition to the system, the article designs the general structure of the system, and establishes the design idea of the system hardware and software. Furthermore, design of the hardware and software of the data acquisition and processing and display are carried on, accomplishing of VI and accomplishing of design of computer are related in detail.The kinetic testing system utilizes the hardware resource of computer sufficiently, the core is single chip computer, including the microcomputer circuit, signal amplifying circuit, filters circuit and RS-232 serial port interface circuit. The software endeavors to take the place of the hardware, which make the structures of the system simpler and the measure precision of the system efficient improvement. The system is more intelligent, integrated and multi-functional. The software is designed for Windows XP, the idea is just that the development of a software system, at the same time the protocol of communication between PC and the data acquisition board is defined. This thesis analyzes the structure, principle and character of VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture). It introduces the VISA as instrument I/O control in testing system. This thesis also investigates the method of using VISA standard in LabVIEW environment, which is used in this thesis to develop instrument control application procedure. The data acquisition board joins the RS-232 serial interface, which makes the communication achievement among devices. Thus the system can implement the real-time slag signal, the storage of the data obtained in the process of the product. Finally, the thesis analyses and compares the data based on applying the testing system to measurement of kinetic parameter.
