In paper the research object is the parametric design stand of 1100 double frame reversible HC mill.The lately years,the HC mill is used abroad in steel rolling,so the digital research on its stand is of more practical significance.The paper takes Pro/ENGINEER as the developing environment,using its parametric design function, and combining the secondary development of Pro/TOOLKIT with VC++6.0 environment,applying the method of combining the three-dimensional model with the program control.The three-dimensional model is not established by the program,but built with alternation mode.Based on the established three-dimensional model of stand,according to the design demand of stand,the designer builds a set of parameter which can fully control the structure and size of its three-dimensional model.The parametric program is accord to the design parameter of stand to programme,and the stand with the resemble form is built to the parametric model,which realize the function which can update the three-dimensional model of stand with the new parameter,according to searching and modifying the chief parameter of stand,thereby being content for the demand of different users with the stand design.So it greatly shortens the time of designing and producing the stand,which have important application value in the production practice.Finally with the help of finite element method software,the renewal stand and hydraulic cylinder body are simulated by the three dimensional finite element method,which realize to combine the parametric model with finite element analysis.By simulating design method ,the stress and distortion graph of stand and hydraulic cylinder body are gained.The stress and distortion results of every cell and node(displacement) are calculated,their most equivalent stress location in the stand and hydraulic cylinder are determined by means of the analysis results,then optimization design of the stand's fillet size is conducted.
