This paper introduced a new method of forming—Tension-Assisted cold rolling forming technology. Base on the height-axis and rod-shaped parts to be rolled in radial direction at normal temperature, those parts were tension-assisted in axial direction. So the composite loading of tension-assisted and rolling was used in plastic forming the parts.First, the paper introduced the basis of the mechanics of plastic forming, and well knows the role of hydrostatic pressure, the stress deviator in plastic forming. Also the paper discussed the plastic forming impacts that may make for the material hardness, strength, plasticity, fatigue and so on. Second, given the reasons that why choose the Tension-Assisted cold rolling method, and then interpret the principles that used Tension-Assisted cold rolling method under the basis of the mechanics. Paper discussed impacts that under the effects that under the composite of tension assisted and rolling, which contained the stress deviator, the process of forming, parameters of forming process and performances of materials. Then introduce the machine of forming that made pieces by tension-assisted cold rolling. Larger-scale experiments were taken in this machine by tension-assisted cold rolling. Finally, comparative analysis of mechanical properties through static stretching, fatigue experiments between tension-assisted and rolling materials and none deal materials.Research shown that: a reasonable loading is an effective way to improve the material forming conditions. Larger-scale deformation will be achieved by tension-assisted coid rolling forming technology that is composite loading for height-axis and rod-shaped parts. The materials of forming pieces are substantially improved in hardness, strength, fatigue life and quality of surface of parts, at the same time, the plastic and toughness reduced. Tension-assisted cold rolling forming technology is expected to become a common method of forming the plastic processing to be applied.
