The Precision Hydraulic Straightening Machine is the special machine tool for processing shafts. It is widely used in manufacturing industry such as automobile, engineering machinery. Electro-hydraulic servo system is one important part of the straightening machine. It is a typical non-liner and time–varying system with complex structure. Factors affecting the system response are very complex. Liquid temperature, fluid compressibility and flow pressure all can impact the hydraulic system. In addition, the load is unstable, so it adds disturbance to the system. Precision Straightening Machine must have accurate and fast straightening stroke movement control. All of this set higher standard for precision machineIn this dissertation, Genetic Algorithm and PID control theory are combined together. The optimization feature of Genetic Algorithm and the characteristics of PID control is adopted to create GA-PID control strategy. The strategy solve the problem that the conventional PID control is difficult to obtain good performance and achieve the target of PID controller self-adjusting .The GA-PID controller design is finished through the process of offline operation and online adjustment . And then I conduct the simulation and experiment. It shows that simulation results matches experimental test. GA-PID control strategy has good adaptability and robustness. It can inhibit adverse effects of load change and external disturbance and performance well.
