As an important component of the vehicle running system, wheel should have good integrated mechanical properties and good micro structure. While vehicle traveling, wheels bear alternating load, so it is prone for them to fatigue failure. The structure and performance of wheels affect the security, comfort, steady and reliability of the vehicles. As a new advanced molding process, liquid forging acknowledged for its great craft characteristics is famous on source saving, labor saving and higher materials utilization. In order to improve the quality of product and shorten the of development cycle, It is of vital importance that the technology CAD/CAE was put into to the permanent liquid forging dies design and dynamic bending fatigue test of automotive wheel.In this paper, on the basis of the analysis of the feature of liquid forging process for auto aluminum alloy wheels, The liquid forge pieces for the wheel was designed according to the component profile Dies, and the liquid forging dies of wheels and their parts were developed based on requirement for the liquid forging process. The three-dimensional parametric design models of the wheel, dies and parts were completed with Pro/E software. According to the design requirements of liquid forging die CAD system for wheels, the integrated frame work of CAD system was designed. Pro/TOOLKIT was made a further development upon Pro/E and liquid forging die CAD system for wheels which has the features of parameterization and interdependency was established based on VC++6.0 as programming environment and Access as database class. Liquid forging dies of liquid forging dies for different specifications wheels, their working parts, structural parts, assembly drawings of liquid forging die which automatically assembled based on assembly relation were quickly generated with user interface of the CAD system which implements the automation of the design and entity modeling of liquid forging dies of wheels. This system can greatly shorten the period of design and manufacturing of wheel dies and improve efficiency.In the research of the dynamic bending fatigue test of automobile wheel, dynamic simulation was built by Pro/Mechanism module to provide data for the fatigue simulation. Then, a finite element model was established with Pro/Mechanica. The calculated results of the wheel's displacement, stress, strain and fatigue analysis were displayed and stored with cloud diagrams. From these cloud diagrams, we could intuitively estimate the critical areas of stress concentration and the dangerous areas where the fatigue took place, which pointed out the direction of design and improvement of wheels and which could reduce the product design period and improve the quality and reliability of the product.
